  Zcon2 will take place   Tuesday, June 8th and Wednesday, June 9th 2021 . Zcon2 will be a virtual conference, streaming on YouTube. The theme of this year’s Zcon is “Privacy all the way down”. The first day will focus on Zcash and its ecosystem, while the second day will look at broader privacy themes, including new research into zero-knowledge proofs, interoperability, network privacy, and privacy metrics. In a  previous post  I outlined all the marketing/scamming tricks used by the Zcash founders to keep people in the dark. Today is launch-day and the futures indicate a $596 price tag per coin! What most people don’t know is that the founders will take 20% of all coins in the first four years of mining. And that’s without mining themselves! A question that often pops up is: what are the differences between Zcoin and Zcash?  Zcoin and ZCash are the only two cryptocurrencies that use zero-knowledge proofs to guarantee zero-knowledge financial anonymity. There are various tradeoffs between using ZCoin and ZCash. Zcoin uses the  Zerocoin Protocol  (cited by academics 208 times, at time of writing), whereas Zcash uses the  Zerocash Protocol  (cited by academics 104 times, at time of writing). The cryptographic properties of Zcoin and Zcash supplement each other quite nicely, and a good way to describe them would be sibling cryptocurrencies.

Ma attenzione, a partire dal 28 Ottobre infatti, non solo sarà possibile iniziare il " mining " sulla Blockchain, ma per i meno esperti sarà anche possibile avere ZCASH senza minarli , direttamente acquistandoli sulla piattaforma  THEROCKTRADING  . Zooko Wilcox and Jack Grigg  | Apr 15, 2016 In our  last blog post , we announced that we have started using Equihash as the proof-of-work for block mining in Zcash ( #27 ). Equihash  is a Proof-of-Work algorithm devised by Alex Biryukov and Dmitry Khovratovich. It is based on a computer science and cryptography concept called the Generalized Birthday Problem. WHY ARE WE USING IT? Equihash has very efficient verification. This could in the future be important for light clients on constrained devices, or for implementing a Zcash client inside Ethereum (like  BTC Relay , but for Zcash).

What is Zcash? Why was it created? ______ When Bitcoin was first released, it brought an open financial system to the world. Anyone could connect without requiring permission from anyone else; anyone could extend and improve on it without permission. However, it came with a drawback – privacy. Bitcoin allowed everyone to see the sending address, recipient address, and value of all transactions on the blockchain. Sure, they weren’t tied to a user (or computer) by default, but contamination was a possibility. People are, after all, only human. In contrast, Zcash automatically hides the sending address, recipient address and the value of all transactions – unless you have the viewing key. The Zcash team was founded with privacy in mind: privacy for businesses; privacy for commerce. To be viable long-term, fungibility is needed – and without privacy, fungibility can’t exist.
